Classes for Teens and Adults

Beginning/Intermediate drawing

4 Sundays 9:30-11:30 June 13-July 11 Note: No class on July 4th (ages 12+) $45.00 + materials Instructor: Chet Griffith

The artist “sees” differently than other people do. Learn the valuable skill of “seeing” as well as several other drawing “tricks”. This is a step by step skill building course with several challenging exercises. This is a good choice for artists of all skill levels.

Advanced drawing

4 Sundays 4:00-6:00 June 13-July 11th No class on July 4th (ages 14+) $45.00 + materials Instructor: Chet Griffith

This class is designed to introduce students to new artistic concepts. This class will allow students to implement their drawing skills in new and challenging ways. There is a different “problem” to solve at each of the four sessions.

Colored pencils~Prismacolors

2 Sundays  4:00-5:45  July 18, 25 (ages 12+) $30.00 + materials Instructor: Chet Griffith

Everybody loves Prismacolor pencils!  With tons of color choices, and the ability to blend them what reason is there not to love them? This class is designed for those of you who’d like to get the most out of these versatile pencils.

Media Sampler

4 Mondays 6-7:30 June 21-July 12 (ages 12+) $60 (materials included) Instructor: Chet Griffith

Are you ready to explore new media to express yourself?  Before you invest in new art supplies, give these different supplies a test drive! In this 4 week sampler course we will experiment with Acrylics, Water colors, Pastels, and colored pencils.

Art Studio for kids!

3 Saturdays 9:00-10:00 June 26-July 10 (ages 6-10) $40.00 (materials included) Instructor:Emily Bury

This course is designed to introduce young artists to fundamental art techniques. This class is fast paced and fun. It’s a good mixture of instruction and creativity meant to keep young artists engaged. We will complete a different project each week.

Intro to Polymer Clay!

1 Saturday 8:15-10:00 July 17 (ages 6+) $25.00 materials included. Instructor: TBA

Polymer clay has quickly become a legitimate art material. There are books, clubs, and numerous art exhibitions dedicated to this wonderful, diverse, clay.   Learn the basics of how to properly complete a sculpture. We cover all the bases; planning, building an armature, construction, baking, and finally painting.

Gettin’ Messy!

Getting Messy 3 Saturdays 8:00-9:00 July 24-Aug. 7th  $35 (materials included) Instructor Emily Bury        Every parent encourages creativity in their children , the problem is that your  little Picasso would love to “create” all over the living room carpet.   Well here’s their chance to let the paint fly!  The mood will be safe and fun. We don’t recommend that they wear their Sunday’s best. (Parents are always welcomed to stay) Ages (2-5)

Fashion Designer

Fashion Designer 3 Saturdays  1:00-2:15  Ages (6-10) June 26-July 10 $40 (mtrls. included) Instructor Emily Bury

Paris, Milan …Kenosha! This class is for all the young, aspiring fashion designers out there! Instructor Emily will teach the fundamentals of fashion design.

Foil Tooling!

Foil Tooling 1 Saturday 9:00-10:00 July 24 $20 (materials included) Instructor Emily Bury     This is a  remarkably simple project that yields absolutely stunning results!   We will design, emboss and color these jewel like, little artworks!  The example on display at ArtWorks is one of our most popular pieces, and it was made by a 9 year old!   Materials are included. Ages 6+)
