Classes for Teens and Adults

Beginning/Intermediate drawing

4 Sundays 9:45-11:30  November 20th- December 11  (ages 12+) $45.00 + materials Instructor: Chet Griffith

The artist “sees” differently than other people do. Learn the valuable skill of “seeing” as well as several other drawing “tricks”. This is a step by step skill building course with several challenging exercises. This is a good choice for artists of all skill levels.  This class is offered in 4, 6, 0r 8 week versions. This is the 6 week session, perfect for busy summer schedules!

Advanced drawing

4 Sundays 4:15-6:15 November 20th-December 11  (ages 14+) $45.00 + materials Instructor: Chet Griffith

This class is designed to introduce students to new artistic concepts. This class will allow students to implement their drawing skills in new and challenging ways. There is a different “problem” to solve at each of the four sessions.  We recommend taking the Beginning/ Intermediate drawing class first, but it is not mandatory.

Colored pencils~Prismacolors

1 Wednesday  6:00-7:30  Weds November 30 (ages 12+) $20.00 + materials Instructor: Chet Griffith

Everybody loves Prismacolor pencils!  With tons of color choices, and the ability to blend them what reason is there not to love them? This class is designed for those of you who’d like to get the most out of these versatile pencils.

“Drawing with Thread”  embroidery for kids

(Ages 7+)  2   Sundays 10:30-11:30  November 6, 13  $30 (materials included) Instructor: Bryanna VanCaster     This class is designed to introduce artists to embroidery techniques. Younger students can experience working with needle and thread while developing fine motor skills.  More advanced students will explore a new approach to drawing using thread as an alternative drawing material.

 

 

Art Studio for Kids!

(Ages 6-10)  3 Saturday 9:00-10:00 November 12-26  $35 (materials included) Instructor: Bryanna VanCaster     This course is designed to introduce young artists to fundamental art techniques. This class is fast paced and fun. It’s a good mixture of instruction and creativity meant to keep young artists engaged!

 

“Christmas Sno-Globes!

(Ages 7+)  1 Saturday 8:15-10:00 November 19th  $35.00 materials included. Instructor: Bryanna VanCaster

What a fantastic gift! Make your own unique snow globe using polymer clay!  In this sculpting course we will construct a festive winter wonderland!  We will learn the basics of how to properly complete a sculpture out of polymer clay.  We cover all the bases; planning, building an armature, construction, baking, and finally painting.  Polymer clay has quickly become a legitimate art material. There are books, clubs, and numerous art exhibitions dedicated to this wonderful, diverse, clay. These sculptures are then inserted into the supplied  globe kit!

Gettin’ Messy!

(Ages 2-5)  3 Saturdays 9:00-10:00  November 26-December 10  $40 (materials included) Instructor: Bryanna VanCaster      Every parent encourages creativity in their children , the problem is that your  little Picasso would love to “create” all over the living room carpet.   Well here’s their chance to let the paint fly!  The mood will be safe and fun. We don’t recommend that they wear their Sunday’s best. (Parents are always welcomed to stay)

Foil Tooling for Christmas!

(Ages 4+)  1 Sunday 9:30-10:30 December 11  $25 (materials included) Instructor: Bryanna VanCaster     This is a  remarkably simple project that yields absolutely stunning results!   We will design, emboss and color these jewel like, little artworks!  Students will create a festive Christmas themed artwork that will be framed and ready to hang for the season!

Advanced Stick People
2 Sundays 11:00-12:00 December 4,11  (ages 6-12) $20.00 materials included. Instructor Bryanna VanCaster
“I’d like to learn how to draw, but I can’t even draw stick people”  You can learn how to draw!  We start at the very beginning and cover the fundamentals of drawing, We then take those basic skills and show you how to apply them.  A great introductory class for kids, its fast paced and fun.
