The new revised dates are ready!  The new show dates are 3-10 through 4-25.  The opening reception is scheduled for March 10th from 6-9 pm  From 9-10 ArtWorks is featuring a full, authentic burlesque performance. (18 and over please)

The entry info:

Artists may submit up to 3 pieces in any media for this show. The entry fee is a flat $15 fee whether you enter 1, 2 0r 3 pieces.  This fee is not refundable. This show is panel juried which means that entries are not guaranteed inclusion in the exhibition.  All work needs to be ready to hang. ArtWorks will retain a 35% commission on sold work. Submissions made in person are due no later than March 5th. email entries must be received by Feb. 22 in 300dpi or smaller jpegs. (Please do not send monster sized files) entries should be sent to: gallery@artworkskenosha.com.  An online artist entry form is available on line here

Art of the draw II card decks will be available, as well as the fantastic Pandora’s Box project this Saturday from 6-9 at ArtWorks.  We are hosting an artist reception that features the brand new card decks and features the original art from the deck which is currently being auctioned off!  click here to see the cards!  and BID!  Along with the card reception we are also hosting the “Clowns” art show which will be exhibited in the new Cellar gallery space at the same time!

Call for Artists!
It’s time for ArtWorks 4th annual “Monster” show!  We are accepting submissions for the show.  a monster does not have to be a horror movie villain.  The definition of a monster will be left up to the artists discretion.  There is a flat $15 entry fee for up to 3 submissions.  All media is acceptable.  See the full ArtWorks prospectus for further details.  Monster is a juried exhibit.  (Juror tba).  Prizes are as follows:  best of show $100 cash  Award of merit $50 cash   2 Honorable mentions- $25 artworks gift certificate.
All Artwork is due OCTOBER 1st
Internet submission are due by Sept 25th and accepted pieces are expected to be delivered by Oct 3rd.

“4 Painters” is a group art exhibit featuring the work of Dennis Bayuzick, Joseph Hronek, Steve Ohlrich, and Stacey Williams-Ng. These artists are bound together by a rare devotion to craft, an obvious respect for art history, and a reverence for paint. Timelessness is a rare and welcome quality in an era that champions the instant. This group does not paint to take advantage of the latest trends, instead they invite you to get lost in the beautiful and complex worlds they create. They welcome you, to stop, take a breath, and just look.

ArtWorks: Call for Artists
Lost and Found A “GeoCached” Art exhibit!
Who: ArtWorks is hosting an art exhibit beyond gallery walls! We are making the entire city of Kenosha the gallery! We have assembled a team of experienced “geocachers” to help.
What: Geocaching is a GPS based treasure hunt game. People all over the world hide things known as geocaches and list the coordinates on a website. People can use their GPS to get close to the hidden geocache but then they must search for it! Many geocaches are still difficult to find as they are cleverly hidden.
Where: We are calling for artwork that will be hidden all over the city of Kenosha.
When: The due date for submissions is June 15th! We will begin hiding the work and coordinating the show launch in July. The outside show will run through mid-August. At the end of the show we will collect the surviving pieces for display at ArtWorks! The Indoor exhibit runs from Sept 1-Sept Sept 30th. An opening reception will be held on Sept 10th from 6-9!
How: The artwork must be reasonably small so it can be easily hidden.
The artist must understand that due to the nature of this show, that artwork may be damaged or stolen!
We anticipate a large number of entries so one entry per artist and early submission will be greatly appreciated!
Cost: $7.00 per artist. if the artist is supplying their own “appropriate” waterproof container.
Cost is $20.00 if you would like for us to purchase an enclosure for your piece.
Why: “Don’t touch the art!” Art has a pretentious reputation, and we would like to change that! We can all remember the stern warnings of your parents, or teachers to “Never, ever touch the art”. As children we don’t understand why we aren’t allowed to touch these super cool things and I think that early experience evolves into a feeling that art isn’t accessible to everyone.
This isn’t just an art show, this is an experience that removes art work from its usual habitat and puts it into the hands of people who might not ever have had the opportunity to interact directly with a piece of art.
If that isn’t enough we are incentivising people to hunt for the art through by offering secret geocaches, special offers, and prizes!
GPS and map information will be release prior to the event. *The mechanics are being worked out as the art exhibit will most likely not be an “official Geocache.com approved event”
